I want to thank An Post for clarifying that the Post Office on Main Street, Newbridge will not be closing. An Post are planning to contract the services of Newbridge Post Office to a private contractor. They say that there will be no impact on services or on the community.

The employees however are left in limbo while the change of management takes place. I have asked for clarification as to what impacts this will have on employees and I have been advised that the employees will have three options. 1. Transfer to the new contractor, 2. Transfer elsewhere and/ or possibly take a departure option. What changes will this have on their current contacts if they remain? The staff at Newbridge Post Office are very efficient, helpful and friendly. Their future is very important in all of this.
